It’s only a 10-minute drive from this upper Michigan lakefront cottage to all the tourist attractions of the Mackinaw City area. Take a leisurely ferry ride over to the beautiful Mackinac Island where horses still rule for transportation as no automobiles are allowed. Horse-drawn carriage rides are popular to see the island, or you can rent a bike to explore some of 70 miles of island trails. Be sure and have a meal on the island with its diverse cruise and world-renown chiefs. History buffs will want to visit the island’s Forts Mackinac and Holmes, which were captured by the British during the War of 1812.
It’s also a short drive to the Headlands International Dark Sky Park where you just might glimpse the glow of the nighttime northern lights or a meteor shower. During the day you can hike on 4 miles of trails through the woods and 2 miles of shoreline trails with views of the pristine, undeveloped shoreline. Look for bald eagles, wild turkeys, osprey, coyotes and the less common black bear sighting. The marked nature trails are accessible to hikers and open in the winter for cross-country skiing.

AMAZING!! 5 of 5 Gorgeous interior, meticulously clean. Breathtaking view of the lake, lake had the clearest sandy bottom for swimming. The owners sent a wonderful box of Michigan made product as a welcoming gift. Our family of 8 had so much fun!! We'll certainly be back next year! Can't recommend it enough!
Excellent Excellent! We arrived to find a spotlessly clean & beautiful rental. We were welcomed by a sign & a box of Michigan cherry treats. This house is even better than the pictures. I would recommend this home. I had my entire family, my grandkids age 14 & 1 enjoyed the stay. My family loves Mackinaw City and Home is about 5 minutes away. We made many trips to Mackinaw City for fun. But the beach at the house was the best. Property Manager was great and answered all question promptly.
