Wilkins Landing in Traverse City is a cozy, two-bedroom cabin rental on Spider Lake in the far northern region of Michigan’s lower peninsula. This picturesque, secluded vacation home offers a quiet, private retreat between the trees with no close (human) neighbors.
This cabin is settled lakeside on a wooded lot with a private dock (complete with a pontoon boat for summer rentals) and easy access to both water and town.
This home is equipped to make the most of all seasons, with a large shaded yard, an open-air deck with lounge chairs, a view of the lake, an outdoor grill and fire pit, and a real wood-burning indoor fireplace with an old-fashioned stone hearth — perfect for cold days. A BRAND NEW HUGE 8' wide Dock with 16' x 16' Sun Deck at the end was added 6/24/22.
This home provides a kitchen with dinnerware and appliances, as well as a comfortable sitting room with a television and a dining area with seating for four. Outside, there is a dining table with an umbrella on the deck and a picnic table closer to the water.
Sleeping arrangements: Wilkins Landing includes two private bedrooms, furnished with one queen-sized bed and one full-sized bed. It also has one full bath with shower.
Unique Features
Perfect for 2 people but can accommodate 4 people, this year-round Michigan cabin enjoys a beautiful location on Spider Lake, as well as a scenic lakefront with wonderful family outdoor amenities. Guests can enjoy off-street parking and easy access to the lake via a private dock. In the summer, this rental has the added benefit of an included pontoon boat.
All weekly rentals will have access to the pontoon and will be provided with the boat contract during the booking process. Life jackets and safety equipment are already on board. Spider Lake is a 459 acre "All Sports" Lake with "fast boating": limited to the hours of 11 am - 7:30 pm. This allows for quiet time and fishing in the morning and evening.
December of 2019 we did a little updating.. all flooring are new vinyl plank, and while we had everything out.. we replaced the Frig, The Bathroom Vanity and the Sofa was replaced with a double recliner for dual napping!

Things To Do
Traverse City is a popular year-round vacation destination in northern Michigan, with access to tons of lake activities as well as unique land-based fun. Visitors to traverse city can head out on tours of all shapes and sizes, exploring the areas wineries, distilleries and breweries, historical sights, and shorelines. There are a number of great learning experiences you can sign up for, including day cruises, guided biking and kayaking trips, sailing lessons and charter fishing boats.
You can take a self-guided tour of the city’s bustling downtown area and spend an afternoon at the State Theater or visiting the local restaurants, shops and pubs. There is family fun for children of various ages, from adventure rental equipment to sandy beaches and miniature golf. You are also not far from the celebrated Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, which is both a can’t-miss Michigan experience and a great photo op.

Guests will receive check in information once a reservation is confirmed with a deposit.
This home is not suitable for children under two years of age.
We do not allow parties or events at Wilkins Landing.
Pets are welcome with prior approval and refundable damage deposit.
NON APPROVED pets will not be allowed.
Smoking is allowed on the property, outside the home.
Maximum occupancy is strictly enforced.

If you are looking for a charming cabin tucked away in the woods off a secluded bay- this is it ! You can enjoy your morning coffee on the private deck, pier ,or just sit in the yard and watch the ducks come in and the lunes fish for breakfast. The open floor plan is cozy ,overlooks the lake and all those amazing fall colors ! There is a stone fireplace, easy furniture to relax on ,and everything you really need in the kitchen. The bed is very comfortable and the down quilt was just right for our cool October weekend. We loved how peaceful and quiet it was- a great place to unwind after long days of exploring the area. The cabin is clean and neat, and looks just like the pictures. The host is very responsive and has local recommendations and information about the area. About the Owner/Manager
Wilkins Landing is located close to my own home in Traverse City, Michigan. I bought my first rental properties at Harold’s Resort with my husband in 1989 and have been managing a collection of others’ private vacation rentals since then as well. The resort is sold now, but I still operate a few cozy Northwoods cabins on Spider Lake. I am a scrapbooker and have in the past hosted Scrap, Stamp and Camp weekends at my places on Spider Lake. I also enjoy traveling and bringing back unique touches from my trips to add to the vacation homes’ decor. In the summer, you can find me on a boat in the middle of the lake, taking reservations!
