Wildwood Lodge is a picturesque, large-group cabin rental set on a scenic hillside surrounded by tall trees. This vacation home is ideal for family reunions, offering comfortable accommodations for up to 30 guests in beautiful northern Michigan.
Wildwood Lodge enjoys a multiple acre lot with private water access on Wildwood Lake. The lodge features two spacious great rooms, with a full kitchen, a dining area and a cozy sitting room on each level. Linens are provided, as well as in-unit laundry and wireless internet.
Outdoor amenities at Wildwood Lodge include a large furnished sun deck and a private beach. Kids will love the shallow, sand-bottomed swimming area and the play set with swings, slide and climbing bars. We also have a fire pit near the water with complimentary firewood.
Sleeping arrangements: There are nine private bedrooms at Wildwood Lodge, spread out over both levels of this Michigan home. The rooms are furnished with 18 double beds (two in each).
Unique Features
Wildwood Lodge has a fun recreation and gaming room, fitted out with a pool table, children’s toys and a collection of board games. Other exciting extras at the lodge include complimentary paddle boats, canoes and kayaks (two of each) and one row boat — great for exploring the lake on calm days! This home is not fully wheelchair accessible, but the ground floor does have access to three bedrooms, as well as the main kitchen, dining and living areas.
Things To Do
Wildwood Lake is great for fishing, and the lodge is located just 500 feet away from a boat launch ramp. Summer at Wildwood Lodge means boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and biking on the region’s scenic trails, cookouts over the fire, and star-gazing away from city lights.
This cabin is open year-round, and offers fun outdoor activities that change with the seasons. The fall is open to hunters during deer and turkey season, and the autumn color in the surrounding trees is truly spectacular. The trails are great for snowmobilers in the winter. We are also just 35 minutes away from three different ski lodges.
Spring in the area is great for exploring the new life in the surrounding state forest land, as well as hunting for morel mushrooms and testing your swing as several nearby world-class golf courses. We recommend looking into the local wine tours, browsing the neighboring towns of Gaylord and Indian River, or packing a picnic for a day trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Reviews
This location is ideal for both large and small groups. Lots of bedrooms and each have a separate bathroom. Well stocked with linens, bath towels and kitchen basics. So much to offer - everyone is sure to find what they are looking for. We enjoyed bonfires on the island, the private beach, use of the paddle boat and kayaks, the pool table, playground and the variety of areas to gather to dine, watch tv and play games. We especially loved the elevated deck with great views of the lake. We can't wait to come back for another visit! The perfect place for family fun! 5/5 Stayed Sep 2020 - Linda L.
An absolutely amazing property. Your own little alcove beach/dock. Fires on the island. Everyone cannot stop saying good things about the time we had up in Wolverine Sep 9 - Sep 13, 2020 - Luke's Review
Overall we had a wonderful vacation at this property. Beautiful beach for kids, tons of room, well stocked kitchen, plenty of hot water for showers, and easy check in/checkout process. 5/5 Stayed Aug 2020 - Craig B.San Francisco
Our stay was absolutely amazing! Vacationing during a pandemic had a lot of us cautious and a little hesitant on if we even wanted to go or not. Our annual trip to Canada fell through due to the border not opening, so we scrambled last minute to see if we could still savage some sort of getaway since we all had the week off. Boy are we glad that we stumbled on this place!! The fact that each of the 9 bedrooms has their own private bathroom IN the room was a huge relief (we didn’t have to worry about sharing with anyone). We had a total of 13 adults and 8 kids ranging from 6-15years old and there was PLENTY of space for all of us. The dual fridges and stoves/ovens were great. We kept coolers on the deck stocked with drinks, and The Party Store was a short 5-10 minute drive to restock on beer and ice (we frequented it almost daily!!!). The private beach was great and we didn’t have to worry about anyone outside of our group venturing over. The pool table In the basement got great use from the teens, and the deck overlooking the lake was absolutely breathtaking. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner sitting out there! There was a 9 hole golf course in the same development which we used a couple of times, plus river tubing, rope challenge, mini golf, and bumper boats 15-20 minutes away. It was BLAZING hot the entire week we were there (90s+) and only 4 bedrooms have an A/C unit- but there were box fans for every room and it was fairly comfortable at night sleeping with the windows open and fans on. Some musts: definitely bring your own umbrella for the beach, and canopy for the deck (We bought some at the walmart near by for $10). There is zero shade. No need to bring any pots, pans, crock pots, griddles, or rice cooker (We accidentally left ours there and it’s AMAZING. You’re welcome!). I would however bring an electric skillet. Bug spray and citronella candles are also a must. We utilized the kayaks every single day (and they provide life jackets), but the canoes had holes in them and the row boat didn’t have an anchor so the guys couldn’t fish as much as they wanted to. They do have boat rental places nearby, but I recommend that you book early as they were already sold out when we called the week we were there. Overall it’s a beautiful property on an amazing plot of land and we had one of the best weeks! We would absolutely go back in a heartbeat! I’m so happy that we stumbled on this place...as it may just become a regular vacation spot! 5/5 Stayed Jun 2020Jason D.
My family really enjoyed our stay at the lodge! Great experience for our first vacation with the whole crew. There were 33 of us. 16 adults (including my parents and 8 siblings/spouses) and 17 kids ranging in age from 1-15. We especially liked the lake and dock for fishing and kayaking. We loved having a bonfire on our own private island! We liked the basement game area for the rainy day. We loved having separate rooms with bathrooms for each little family. We wished there would have been at least one bathtub in the house since some of our little ones are too young for shower stalls. So many wonderful memories were made! Thank you so much for providing a wonderful place to stay at a very affordable price! — Victory W., Sept. 2019
This is the fourth year in a row that we have rented this property. It is perfect for a large group with so many bedrooms and bathrooms. We enjoy every meal sitting out on the deck looking out on the lake. Plenty of room to both gather and escape for some quiet time too. — Aug. 2019
My family had an overall great time staying at the Wildwood Lodge. There was plenty of room inside the cottage, and very nice that everyone had their own bathroom with their room. We brought up our boat and enjoyed tubing, skiing, and fishing. The beach area was great for the kids for playing, and great for the adults for relaxing. — Bryan R., July 2019

About the Owner/Manager
Wildwood Management Group rents three unique vacation rentals in Wolverine, MI. In 2015 we added a sandy beachfront in front of all three northern Michigan cabins — imagine the pure fun your kids will have splashing all day, searching and catching frogs and turtles! We love waking up to the sounds of Loons calling and exploring the Northern tip of MI so much that we keep one of our beautiful lodges as a private residence when we are in the United States.
