This stunning ranch-style lakefront vacation home on 99-acre Upper Scott Lake opened in May 2019. Relax in our comfortably furnished vacation home, featuring breathtaking lake views from the spacious great room. Gather around the huge dining table to share a meal lovingly prepared in our well-equipped kitchen, or soak in the sun and lake breezes while lounging on the lake-facing deck and enjoying a hearty meal prepared on our gas grill. The great room includes a comfortable lounge area with leather sofa seating, a large-screen (55") TV connected to satellite service, and a DVD player. Play games well into the evening around the smaller 4-seat dining table in the great room, or enjoy your breakfast coffee as you gaze out over serene Upper Scott Lake in the early morning hours before the kids are up and about. Exercise your competitive spirit with a few rounds of pool or foosball in our rec room, or challenge your best friend to a round of air hockey. Relax and catch the next Big Game in the lounge area of our rec room, which comes complete with another large-screen (55") satellite-connected TV and two more comfortable leather sofas. Just off the kitchen area of the great room, you will find a spacious and well-lit screened-season porch with a cozy six-piece dining set and ceiling fan to keep the cool lake breezes circulating when the summer sun heats up. Our well-equipped kitchen includes all the cookware, dishes, utensils, and small appliances you should need to make everything from lazy-morning continental breakfasts enjoyed at the kitchen island, all the way up to full Thanksgiving Day spreads complete with all the trimmings.
Sleeping arrangements: Seven bedrooms, including 11 total beds. Five bedrooms have one queen bed each, bedroom six has two twin/single beds, and bedroom seven has two sets of twin bunk beds (four total beds).

One of the best features of Swan Shores is its expansive lawn. Guests will find a circle of inlaid stone between the attached deck and the water’s edge with a permanent bonfire pit equipped with a cooking grate. This wide circle of firelight is furnished with enough lawn chairs for the entire group to gather around the flames and roast marshmallows for s’mores.
Further out from the house, guests can enjoy a private sandy swimming area with shallow wading right around knee level out 20 to 30 feet — perfect for letting the kids splash around in the lake. The home is also equipped with a private boat dock for guests to moor their vessels or cast a line off the end, as well as a traditional canoe, allowing freedom to explore the lengths of Upper Scott Lake. Single-person kayaks are also available for rental by the day or the week, for a nominal daily fee with a reservation.

Swan Shores is open year-round to make the most of Michigan’s changing seasons. This prime lakeside location offers fishing, swimming, boating, sunbathing, and picnicking in the summer. In the fall and spring, autumn leaves and wildflowers make for colorful scenery along the lake’s edge — an ideal opportunity for engagement photos or senior portraits. Bicycle trails can be found in the nearby Allegan State Game Area, and several rural experiences found nearby include Fenn Valley Winery, Crane’s Orchards, and Dutch Farms. You can spend an afternoon touring and tasting, participate in a little country fruit-picking, or indulge in a fresh-made tart or homemade fruit pie. In the winter, Michigan is a hub of cold-weather activity with ice fishing and skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
There are many popular antique stores in South Haven and other neighboring towns, all within roughly 15-20 minutes of the home. There are also several art galleries and unique museum experiences in the vicinity. Between the myriad of Michigan festivals, the unique shops and restaurants, the cultural destinations, the lakes and rivers, and the beaches and dunes, there is always plenty to see and do near Upper Scott Lake.

The internet connection was reliable and good. The lake view from the house is amazing. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows by the Firepit in the evening. The yard space is big for the kids to run and play. The great room that includes kitchen, dinning and the tv room is huge and spacious with beautiful lake view. The property manger was prompt in attending to our requests during our stay. We were a group of 15 with combination of adults and kids. We had a great time indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed the stay.

By a stroke of luck, the owners discovered their first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township over 18 years ago. They began renting out the cottage because they sought to share the wonderful experiences their family has enjoyed through the years. We have added 13 more properties over the past 13 years, and we truly enjoy offering our guests a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.
