The shared spaces include a generous great room with a full kitchen, a small breakfast or gaming table, an extra-large formal dining table, and a media lounge area. The kitchen includes dining ware, cookware, utensils, modern appliances (including "hidden" drinks min-fridge), and an island with plenty of workspace. The small breakfast or gaming table is set for four, the larger dining table can seat at least 12 comfortably, and three more can sit on the island stools. The lounge includes two leather sofas, a large (55") flat-screen TV connected to satellite TV service, and a DVD player. Heron’s Landing joins the exclusive ranks of Upper Scott Lake vacation homes as part of a small community of comfortably appointed lakeside cottages. The area is quiet and peaceful, and many vacationers return year after year to the same spot.
Heron's Landing is open year-round to make the most of Michigan’s changing seasons. This prime lakeside location offers fishing, swimming, boating, sunbathing, and picnicking in the summer. In the fall and spring, autumn leaves and wildflowers make for colorful scenery along the lake’s edge — an ideal opportunity for engagement photos or senior portraits. Bicycle trails can be found in the nearby Allegan State Game Area, and several rural experiences found nearby include Fenn Valley Winery, Crane’s Orchards, and Dutch Farms. You can spend an afternoon touring and tasting, participate in a little country fruit-picking, or indulge in a fresh-made tart or homemade fruit pie. In the winter, Michigan is a hub of cold-weather activity with ice fishing and skating, sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
There are many popular antique stores in South Haven and other neighboring towns, all within roughly 15-20 minutes of the home. There are also several art galleries and unique museum experiences in the vicinity. Between the myriad of Michigan festivals, the unique shops and restaurants, the cultural destinations, the lakes and rivers, and the beaches and dunes, there is always plenty to see and do near Upper Scott Lake.

08/10/18: We feel especially lucky to be the first guests staying at Herons Landing. Our group of 16 came from Indiana & Michigan and ranged from age 5 to 85! The house layout accommodated us all nicely. The big dining table was perfect for meals & lots of game playing. We had many fun days on the lake and cozy nights around the fire pit singing songs. We also loved that the location made it easy for us to take trips to South Haven & Saugatuck so we gals could have our shopping therapy. Thanks for providing us with a beautiful home to say in and we'll be taking many good memories with us. Susie Treber, Saline, MI
08/10/18: Our stay was short but it was a pleasure to visit Herons Landing. The house has a fabulous panoramic view of the large lawn, beach, and lake. The house is beautifully decorated throughout with plenty of room and plenty of seating. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked, the rec room with pool table, foosball, and TV is great for rainy days. The beach is sandy and the lake water was nice and warm. The lake has a sandy bottom and gets deep slowly, so it's great for children overall. A great family vacation place and hope to stay longer next time!! Austin Rugg, Fennville, MI
08/11/18: Amazing Restful Vacation--Much needed rest. Very relaxing to look out the windows and watch the sun set. Very peaceful and quiet. The fishing was great. Sandy beach for the kids with fire pit near by for night time enjoyment.
08/21/18: [5 Stars] Wonderful place to spend a weekend with family! Our family of 11 stayed at this new home with an amazing view of the Lake! It was well supplied, had a pool table and foosball and a canoe for our use! Looking forward to going back! Rochelle Weingarden, Southfield, MI
09/10/18: Very nice getaway! 10 miles off freeway, great set up, nice fire pit, close to water. Very serene and quite. Joe D., Grand Rapids, MI
09/25/18: Amazing Property for Large Group! A group of 12 golfers made this our home base for a recent SW Michigan golf trip. This house is absolutely beautiful and very big. It easily accommodated 12 people and had plenty of room to spare. Fire pit, pool table, and Foosball table added to the enjoyment of our group. We highly recommend this property! Michael M., Ohio.

We love helping people find the perfect vacation rental for their needs, and we have been managing this growing group of homes in Southwest Michigan since 2011. As admirers of Michigan's abundant natural beauty, we hope that the folks who stay in our homes come to appreciate the area as much as we do.
By a stroke of luck, the owners discovered their first gorgeous property on Upper Scott Lake in Lee Township over 18 years ago. They began renting out the cottage because they sought to share the wonderful experiences their family has enjoyed through the years. We have added 13 more properties over the past 13 years, and we truly enjoy offering our guests a simple countryside alternative to busy city life.
Our homes and guests benefit from the excellent care one of our Local House Managers, Christine, provides. Her direct contact information is provided to guests before arrival and is posted within our homes.
