Reviews

We have been staying at Hiawatha's Hideaway for several years to snowmobile in the UP. We usually have 4 or 5 guys and there is plenty of room with a couple of sleeper sofas if we find someone else that wants to come along. We have all the food prep things we need there, the beds are comfortable, and the place is always neat and inviting. The garage is very useful to do some minor repairs on the sleds or get packed for the day on the trails. We used the garage this year when the freezing rain hit to keep it off the sleds which helped a lot. The driveway also has plenty of room for snowmobile trailers. We feel like home at Hiawatha's Hideaway and plan to stay there every year. Tom and Lisa are very friendly and helpful. — Roger D., Feb. 2019
The cabin was very roomy and clean. We loved the animals on the wall. Having a nice TV and WIFI in the middle of the Hiawatha forest was a nice surprise. We definitely plan on coming back! — Jason, Nov. 2018
We are a group of six deer hunters and have been staying at this beautiful cottage in the woods for the past 5 years. Lisa and Tom provide full support for every need including snow plowing. 2 full baths, dishwasher and the washer/dryer are a must and the large 2-car garage make this the perfect place for our group. We highly recommend this cottage for your vacation needs in Michigan's Upper Peninsula - summer or winter (just don't plan to use it during the 3rd week of November). — Terry H., Nov. 2018
My Husband and I enjoyed our weekend getaway here. It was a Home away from Home. Lisa (owner) was very responsive to questions/concerns e had throughout our stay. The October scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed hiking with our pups. We will be back again...lots more to see and do! Thanks for our wonderful stay. — Randi, Oct. 2018
Super comfortable and quiet! Nice country decor with plenty of room for our group and everyone was happy with the accommodations. Hiawatha's Hideaway is a spacious and well stocked home with everything that is needed including WIFI and Satellite TV. The attached garage was really nice to have for storing away our buggies when we weren't riding them! The location was perfect for riding in every direction seeing that we rode 872 miles during our stay. It was great and very nice to return to such a nice home to relax after an exciting day of adventures! Communication with Lisa was super easy and quick which was appreciated. I would recommend Hiawatha's Hideaway as a great place to stay and get away from it all! Just a perfect spot tucked away in the Hiawatha National Forest but yet not too far away from it all. — Daniel M., Sept. 2018
Hiawatha's Hideaway has been our family's home away from home for many years. It's located in the beautiful Hiawatha National Forest and it's our favorite vacation destination. Hiawatha's Hideaway is the perfect fit for any size family. The layout is ideal for large families and smaller families will enjoy the all the different sleeping options. The basement level allows plenty of room for the kids with a pull-out in the "living room" and a large bedroom with two roomy beds. The adults can enjoy the quiet of the main level with two additional bedrooms and another living room. Due to the space, often, we bring up additional family members to the U.P. with us. Whether it is one set of grandparents or two, cousins or friends, we've always had plenty of room. If you are looking for a comfortable, homey, clean, and well-stocked place to stay during your visit to the stunning Pictured Rocks area, please consider Hiawatha's Hideaway as your vacation rental. It may just turn into your own home away from home. — The Lash Family, May 2018
Thank you for allowing us to stay at the cottage we all had a wonderful time, the cottage is spectacular plus its location is perfect, we will be back! — William K., Jan. 2018
