Edgetts Lodge is a large, luxury log cabin on 38 private acres overlooking the Pine River. This six-bedroom, 5,100-square-foot vacation home can accommodate up to 30 guests comfortably, with a cozy great room, a gourmet kitchen, a sleeping loft and a lower-level walk-out gaming lounge.
Designed as a rustic, 19th-century log estate, Edgetts Lodge has been retrofitted in a modern style with new kitchen appliances, in-house laundry facilities, wireless internet, interspersed with a unique decorating theme of lacquered pine, hunting trophies and custom details.
The main floor of the lodge opens to a spacious great room with a wood-burning stone fireplace and a full wall of windows that let in a glow of natural light. The Master Suite is also on the main floor with a private river view deck. The gourmet kitchen features a breakfast bar, a full-size refrigerator (with a second one in the basement), dishwasher, microwave, 2 coffee pots, and a full array of every cooking tool imaginable.
The formal dining room offers seating for 18. An open log staircase leads up to the lofted sleeping area, where you can find the river-view suite (complete with private balcony) as well as two more private bunkrooms, and a family loft with a media room and a large-screen TV.
The lower level features a ground-floor gaming lounge with shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, ping pong, darts, and custom poker table. There is also a second field-stone fireplace, 2 bunkhouse bedrooms, a full bath, and a huge collection of toys and board games. This home is ideal for large-group vacations, including family reunions, weddings and corporate retreats.
Edgetts Lodge is hidden from the road but there is a large custom sign that was carved by a local artisan positioned at the beginning of the long curving drive. It will guide your way through 38 acres of pristine Michigan wilderness and old-growth red pines. This home is 5,100 square feet and constructed from those same pines in a traditional cabin style. The outdoor living spaces are the height of luxury, with 180-degree views of the scenic Pine River. The home features two open-air decks with a picnic table and outdoor lounge chairs, as well as yard games — horseshoes and “geezer golf” — and 2 fire pits include firewood, a commercial gas grill, seven kayaks with paddles and life jackets, and even a collection of fishing tackle and poles.
Edgetts Lodge’s 38 private acres run along both sides of the Pine River. This Blue Ribbon Trout Stream is rated one of the best in the Midwest for canoeing and kayaking, and has been designated both a Federal Wild and Scenic River and a Michigan Natural River. If you adventure out along the banks you are likely to spot whitetail deer, beaver, muskrat, coyotes, bobcat, wild turkeys and bald eagles. Popular activities at Edgetts Lodge include kayaking, trout fishing, tubing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, hunting, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, mushroom hunting, and golf.
The Pine River flows through four counties from its headwaters near Cadillac, MI, until it joins the Manistee in Tippy Dam backwaters. Take the day to explore the waterways, and stop for lunch or local shopping in the nearby towns. Venues for downhill skiing, golf and antique shops can be found an easy day-trip from the cabin. Other possibilities include the Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell (20 miles out), Lake Michigan (52 miles out) Traverse City (65 miles out) or Michigan’s Adventure Waterpark in Muskegon (95 miles out).

We rented the lodge for a girls weekend. The lodge and the property are gorgeous. Mark and Doug are awesome very accommodating. Doug checked to see if we needed anything everyday. Kept the snow plowed. This is the third time we rented this place, it has been a great experience every time. We will be back. — DENISE B., 3/01/2019
My stay at Edgetts Lodge was a memorable event. Took a group of friends to the lodge to relax and fish. Ate the trout we caught and enjoyed the riverfront on the Pine River. The Lodge itself is awesome ! The structure of the log home and the decor will keep you busy just enjoying looking around while relaxing in front of the fireplace. What a great time was had by all. Mark is a straight up guy and easy to deal with. Doug the caretaker was very helpful to our group and shared his knowledge of the area with us. Thanks to Mark at Edgetts Lodge for the Lodge Experience!! — DAVID A., 2/19/2019
We always have a wonderful experience at this lovely lodge. The main living area is cozy with a large hearth and fireplace, with a stunning view of the winding pine river out of large picture windows. We’ve had another wonderful weekend creating happy memories! — KERRY H., 2/18/2019
This lodge is absolutely wonderful!!! It’s located in such a beautiful & peaceful setting on the serene Pine River and is a perfect setup for our 5 families annual ski weekend! Mark is a very helpful & thoughtful owner and we appreciate all of the family history here as well! Doug is a great caretaker and we feel well taken care of each year in this well appointed rental in the woods — highly recommended!! — JENNIFER S., 2/18/2019
Beautiful, clean, warm, inviting, and spacious! The lodge is relatively new but the family has owned/enjoyed the property for generations. That family connection is displayed in the care and attention to detail found in the home with family pictures and trophies throughout. — DAVE L., 2/12/2019
The lodge is cozy, the view is stunning. Doug the caretaker is extremely helpful. We have stayed there for 4 years now and we will continue to come back. — LAURA Z., 2/11/2019
Edgetts Lodge has become the home of our winter ski weekend every year. This beautiful lodge located on the pine river is secluded in the pines. It is always clean, bedding and towels are freshly washed. The kitchen has everything needed to feed a large crowd. Doug the caretaker is awesome comes by to make sure everything is going well. We would recommend this lodge. — CHARMAINE B., 2/11/2019
Edgetts Lodge is a warm and friendly feeling place to bring your friends and family too! It’s very cozy and can accommodate many people, which is what I love! There was 14 of us who went and there was still an extra room! Will definitely be back:) — JOELLE A., 12/27/2018
Our group of 16 guys have used this lodge for our fall golf weekend for several years and it provides plenty of space. The lodging is so much nicer than the cramped condos that the golf courses partner with. Plenty of space to have some watching TV or playing cards or just sitting back enjoying the rustic surroundings! Highly recommend this lodge if you have a large group and will be visiting this part of Michigan! — PAT M., 10/24/2018
This is my golf groups fifth year at Edgetts. Fell in love with the place on the first visit and have no desire to go anywhere else. Top notch place. It makes our trip special. I look forward to going every year....the lodge never gets old or disappoints. Absolutely beautiful everywhere you look! Can't go wrong here. Mark the owner makes you feel like a king. I'll be back as long as I can swing a club! — GARY H., 10/24/2018
We had a recent bachelor party at Edgetts Lodge and the group was looking for a lodge that gave us privacy with a view. This lodge DOES NOT disappoint! The pictures absolutely do not do this place justice! Beautiful river views with amazing custom woodwork throughout. Basement offered a poker table/mini game room for our group. Fishing right out back and enough privacy to get you away from the city hustle. I would definitely recommend this lodge, as I know I'll be going back! Thanks again to Mark and his staff! — THOMAS W., 9/13/2018
Our family stayed at the Edgetts Lodge for a week. There was 22 of us and everyone had a great time. They fished, kayaked, golfed at nearby courses and enjoyed the games inside the lodge. I enjoyed my walks in the morning, and the deer who would appear every morning.

Welcome to Edgetts Lodge! We are located at the former site of historic Edgetts Michigan, a 19th-century logging town that burned down nearly a century ago. Though the city was never rebuilt, the remains of the foundations can still be seen on our property. Our Lodge sits high on a riverbank with a fantastic view overlooking the Pine River. We provide 7 kayaks and a trailer for your use, with additional kayaks and canoes available for local rental.
The Lodge is also surrounded by 38 private wooded acres, and we own both sides of the river for 1/8th mile. We have outfitted this incredible home to accommodate 23 guests comfortably, with all the amenities you could want for a luxury getaway in northern Michigan. The home is decorated in a custom rustic style and ideally equipped so your family can make the most of fishing and exploring on one of the state’s premier blue-ribbon trout streams.
