The upstairs bedroom of the Docksider Cottage is divided with a wall providing two sleeping areas - one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. The cabin is on a lake near the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which is perfect for nature lovers. Not just any lake either, our cottage is on Big Glen Lake which is actually two bodies of water, collectively known as Glen Lake. This is the perfect place to stay for your next Leelanau vacation! Bring some yard games and enjoy the large level yard that leads to our sandy beach! Lake Michigan’s amazing beaches are nearby too.
Inside are 2 floors: Main floor has comfortable Living Room with Lazy Boy and window air conditioner; Full kitchen with microwave. Second floor bedroom. Cook a cabin meal inside, or step outside and fire up the grill and eat at the picnic table.
Sleeping arrangement: Bedroom has a Queen sized bed, Double bed, and Folding single bed - guests can use the large walk-in closet. Living Room also has a queen size sofa sleeper.

Use our canoe with paddles see what the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore looks like from Big Glen Lake. The wooded rolling sand hills make it one of the most beautiful lakes in the Great Lakes region.
We are minutes from popular Glen Arbor and 30 minutes from Traverse City - both are a scenic self-guided color tour is during fall - as is a kayak trip down the Crystal River! Guests can enjoy mild temps, fewer crowds, and the Sip & Savor Wine Trail in the spring - the budding wild flowers, Cherry Blossoms and Orchards are seen along hiking trails.
Our shallow swimming area extending out more than 100 yards, so swimming is fun for the entire family. It wouldn’t be cabin time without an evening bon fire - we have a lakeside fire pit.

Guests come from all over the world to visit go on a Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail, play our golf courses, and of course explore Sleeping Bear Dunes Park. Make sure your group finds the Dune Climb and Inspiration Point! Since you book directly with us Judy and Carl, we can tell you which hiking trails are Easy, Moderate and Strenuous. We have lots of local knowledge that might come in handy for different ages and interests.
